| Yay! Online Gambling Bill Passes House Committee |

Yesterday, a good thing happened for poker: A bill by Rep. Barney Frank, H.R. 2267, the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act, passed the U.S. House Finance Committee. Frank's bill sets up a program for legalizing and taxing Internet gambling in the U.S., which of course includes online poker. It would overturn the horrible UIGEA, which effectively banned online poker 4 years ago and drove those businesses offshore. Legalizing online poker could bring billions of tax revenue to the U.S. and provide for better regulation of the industry overall. Plus, more players and more fun for all, as far as I'm concerned! ... |

One term you hear bandied about a lot when people talk about poker is "tell." And not in a "tell me what you had," way, but as in, "When I saw that guy scratch his ear, I knew he was bluffing. That was his tell." Reading people and figuring out what poker hand they might be holding is a highly important skill for poker players to learn. ... |

This Tuesday, ESPN begins airing this year's World Series of Poker events on TV. Every Tuesday night from here until November, you can catch a new action-packed poker event at 8 P.M.
